Platable is on a mission to solve the food waste problem in MENA. We are starting by building a marketplace empowering restaurants, cafes and supermarkets to sell their daily surplus food output by connecting them to customers in close vicinity willing to try a surprise meal box from the outlet.

A lot of good food goes to waste every day.

800 million people globally go hungry everyday. At the same time, in other parts of the world about 1.8 billion tons of food is wasted yearly - that is nearly ⅓ of all food produced! That's a lot of food right? It's no surprise that this costs the world USD 1.2 trillion annually and contributes to 10% of all GHG emissions.

Cost of living is rising at an unprecedented rate.

According to a recent survey, almost half of UAE residents consider the 'cost of living' to be the primary cause of stress. People from all walks of life are now looking for avenues to gain more value for each dirham they spend to meet the financial demands of their families which is leading to rising interest in platforms and solutions that offer better value for money.

CEO, Co-Founder

Salmaan comes with over 10 years of experience in building ecosystems, partnerships and businesses in the MENAP region. He spends his free time camping and exploring the outdoors.

Mustafa Abdul-Rahman

CTO, Co-Founder

Mustafa has over 12 years of experience building Mobile Apps, platforms and tech teams. He helped build Postmates from the ground up and then built core features at Uber Eats. He spends his free time hiking national parks.
